First Devlog!


Welcome to the first devlog of Blueblack!

We are a team of passionate game designers and gamers who have come together from diverse backgrounds to create our debut project, Blank Canvas.

Blank Canvas is a hack-and-slash game where players will play as an artist struggling with creative blocks, trapped within their own mind of negative thoughts. To break free from burnout, players must battle various entities representing these negative thoughts.

Throughout Blank Canvas, players navigate through different realms symbolising the artist's internal struggles, including Fear of the Unknown, Burnout, Stress, and Judgment.

This is one of the mechanics we are trying out, which allows the player to paint on the floor to reveal the area which the player is able to walk on.

Currently, we are in our first week of development, and we’re actively brainstorming ways to refine gameplay mechanics and designing levels. Meanwhile, Fayyadh, our lead programmer, is focused on developing the player character controls, a crucial step towards showcasing our game at our upcoming milestone.
