Chapter 1 ~ Idea
Prologue
This is the second full-fledge 2D game I've developed, and the process was alright. Unlike my other games, this one is smaller in scale but that doesn't mean it didn't come with its issues. The requirements of developing this game were that it must be blind-accessible with 3 unique levels and the sounds chosen must be clear and obvious. This also means that the game shouldn't have too much mystery to the point where the player needs to start guessing.
The Game
The original idea I had for this game is simple. It will be a 2D top-down game where you can move freely in all 8 directions within a small area. You play as a hunter and go fishing. You use sound cues to find the fish and hunt them. After hunting a certain amount of fish, you cook and eat them.
Once the player enters the fish zone and starts hunting, the fish will move to another location and stay there for a few seconds before moving again. The player will hunt as many fish as they can before the fish moves to a new location and after hunting a certain amount, the player will locate their camp to cook the fish which will then end the level.
This idea would eventually evolve with things being changed or removed in the final product.
