Core Mechanics Implemented
Level Design
After getting down the maze aspect of the game, I decided to make it a story of you having lost your dog in a park, needed to follow it's barks to get out of the park before it got too dark. Despite the game having been made for the visually impaired, I still wanted to have some proper visuals that represented the park and dog.
Add on Mechanics
What was important here was to have the dog move around whenever the player found it,so it could guide the player out of the forested area of the park. At this point, I also started adding in the tutorial script in the form of a phone call you got from a friend to explain the situation.
Monster
The most significant decision that ironically isn't implemented in this build was to have a monster come around. The monster would make the player have to stop while it was around them or else it would attack if the player moved. The idea came from some earlier concept drafts where the player would be travelling through a vent and stopping when they heard a monster breathing close by. This idea was eventually scrapped, but the thought of the monster stayed with me. So i decided to put a beast into the woods here.
Unfortunately, I couldn't implement it in time, so this build is without the beastly creature.
